I stood in the caravan door on the side of the road looking out into the stormy night. It crossed my mind that perhaps this was where I would be sleeping for the next ten nights. We had just filled it up almost completely with all the cardboard from a recent Cardboard Village event, so there was definitely no room for any sleeping in the caravan at that moment. Why were we stuffing cardboard in a caravan, you ask? Within a week, we will be running another cardboard event, this time with a farming theme as part of Rejuvenate!
A few nights later and we do indeed find ourselves making that very caravan our home, this time looking out over the sunny field at Highland Home. Together with about 15 other leaders, we welcomed 60 “Rejuvenators” to camp on Sunday night, ready for the week ahead. It has been a blessing to have a sunny start and we are looking forward to seeing what God does in the lives of these young people as we focus on our theme of growing in Christ, together with plenty of fun activities of course!
It is encouraging to see all the hard work that the new directors team has put into the planning this year. We are blessed to be able to be here to support them in running things for the week. The team experienced some spiritual attack in various ways in the week leading up to camp (e.g. things going wrong at work and leaders dropping out); we praise God for bringing us through, and for a good weekend at Highland Home preparing with the leadership team.
